Here’s our prediction on what the latest trends are for weddings this year.

Wedding themes

The most popular inspired wedding theme is a vintage wedding. It emulates romance and captures the elegance of a bygone era. It’s also easy to create. Simple wooden tables, bronze instead of silver, intimate garden or outdoor venues, twinkle lights and garden flowers.
Create an informal, yet very personal and intimate atmosphere. Lace wedding dresses are almost a must to capture that timeless and romantic look. Or go for a gown with high neck with lace detail or lace seleeves or a lace bolero shrug, or cape. All very much on trend.

Wedding dress trends

The main wedding dress trend that caught our eye are high illusion necklines with or without embroidered detail. And sheer magic body netting to look like skin with decorative overlays. Its feminine, soft, classic and elegant. There are so many different styles it would be easy to create your own personalised and individual look.

Wedding flowers

Rustic, country, just freshly picked from the garden goes well with the vintage wedding theme and is on trend too. Use a mixed bouquet, unstructured and wild with sweet peas, roses, ivy, tulips. You could combine this with a flora crown which is becoming more popular (take a look at Naomi Campbell modelling for Jean Paul Gaultier’s 2015 fashion show).
For that cleaner, classic look, the combination of white and green is simple, elegant, still popular and still very on trend. Grouping a single flower variety creates impact while maintaining simplicity. Ivory roses and calla lilies are timeless classics.

Wedding food

Family styled dinning is a great way to get conversations started with guests passing beautiful plated entrees and sides to one another. Sharing platters to have become more popular over the years. Couples are shying away from the traditional sit down dinners and opting more for less formal fanfare and having fun with it too with food trucks serving their favourite food or ice-cream.
Champagne cocktails in 1920’s inspired cocktail glasses and champagne towers emanating The Great Gatsby are becoming more popular along with drink stations serving non alcoholic drinks with fruit infused water. You can never have enough champagne on your wedding day!

Wedding cake

Gone are the fun loving cupcakes, brides are now opting for the cake again, but with a twist. Macaron cakes, crepe cakes and anything you can think of. With so much imagery on the internet, Brides can find the cake they like and ask bakeries to make it to their taste.
Wedding lingerie
The whole day, will be spent posing for wedding photos, dancing, drinking and dining. You probably want to be comfortable so that you can enjoy yourself. You also want to look your best too. With that in mind, sexy lacy, complicated underwear is out. Go with the celebrities and find lingerie that is comfortable but also serves a purpose in shaping, supporting and concealing making you look and feel fabulous.

Groom Trends

Grooms are shunning the classic black tuxedo in favour for adding colour and personality into their wedding day attire. Exploring new coloured suits in light greys and blues. Grooms are also ditching the jacket, but keeping the waist coat, giving grooms a modern vintage twist.
